Im reading a book called "To Kill A Mocking Bird" by Harper Lee. So far I am Part 2 Chapter 31, The sherif came into there house and realized that Jem's arm was broken. She also found out Boo Radley saved her and the 2 kids lives. The sheriff was asking them questions, They were arguing wether that killing Bob was self defense or just plain crazy. After a couple minutes they realized that Bob fell on his knife thus killing him.
The plot of this book is when Bob attacks the judges widow. She was walking home from a halloween party. She did not know she was being watched, he was planning to kill her and the 2 kids. However Boo Radley intervenes and saves her and her 2 kids. He then stabbed Bob killing him, he then carried the body to Attics house. The cop try's helping Boo by saying that they tripped over a tree root and stabbed his self. In my opinion this was the plot of my book.

Workers Rights
Article
So the other day I was reading a article called Bangladesh rescue operation near end; collapse death toll at 1,127. After reading this article I thought to my self Why?. Why are so many people put threw things like these, they deserve better. People need help from the government and the government has to help. These people were put threw all this pain and suffering to make our garments, the least we can do is help. The government has to inspect these buildings and make sure there a safe working environment. 1,127 people lost there lives because of a building that was not checked to be safe. In my opinion this is horrendous, how can people be put threw this. What happened too human rights? These people need the government to enforce there rights. Something that made me think more was "How come no one came to a senses and said lets check the building?". I thought about that because the building got on fire in November and killed 112. Why? You should read the article and tell me what YOU think.
Poem
The argument in the poem was how the worker felt trapped. She feels as if she is a machine that does the same thing over and over. The article explains how she say's "Seconds, Minutes, and hours go by - the days and nights sail past quickly" I understood this as her not realizing time passing by. The article is different from this poem because the article explains about a event that occurred when this poem explains about how the character goes threw everything daily. For example her daily thing or job, all the pain and suffering. I understood the poem as a informative like it was telling you about her daily thing or what goes on in her head everyday. You should read the poem and find out what people go threw when they make your clothes.Saturday, November 1, 2014
Hoot Summary and Reflection
Summary
So I am reading a book called hoot and is really interesting. For example, its a about a group of kids that try to save owls. The main kid is called Roy and his best friends are Napoleon Bridger or Mullet Fingers and Beatrice or curly for short. One of the big things thats occurring in the book is how Roy is being bullied on his way to school. The bully nicknamed Roy "Cowgirl" because well roy is from Montana. Later in the book Roy makes one friend, his name was Napoleon or Mullet Fingers and he also made friends with this girl in his class her name is Beatrice leap, but she hates Roy. Until she starts realizing his a good guy. Then later on the form a group and right now there trying to save the owls from being removed from there homes to build a building. Come back next friday to see what else is new.
Reflection
I liked this book allot, it was really interesting and informative. The book would be a bit boring at times but when it would hit the climax it would get intense and good. It would make me want to read more, for example when I would finish reading my 20 pages I would read until I finished the chapter because it was so good. I did not like the fact that there is not a sequel. The end of the book left me hanging, it did not explain what happened to the owls in the end or what happens to mullet fingers. Does he actually move in with his sister, will he care about school? I think that next year in high school i'm going to chose to read this book again because it was enjoyable. I dislike the bully, he was so annoying. He would always try to beat up Roy, he was just jealous that Roy was better than him. Roy was also a new kid so that might have been another reason why he bullied him.

"Big Field" Summary & Conflict/Theme
Summary
Conflict/Theme
There was on conflict I do remember and that was when Hutch was moved to play second base because the "all star" was already playing on that position. It really didn't bother him but he started hating Darryl. The tension was low until one game when they went off on each other. This conflict was man vs man or Hutch vs Darryl. On the other hand the theme was "Don't let anyone ruin your dreams because you can actually make it. Hutches dad kept telling Hutch he couldn't make it to stop trying and in the end Hutch made it and surprised his dad.

My thoughts on "Call Of Duty"
I read the article "Call Of Duty" by Michael Paterniti. This narrative nonfiction article was about how a army soldier and his dog had a bond that was strong enough to bring them back together after a terrible incident. Jose Armenia was an ordinary guy that had a thing for the army, so when he got to the age of 18 he enlisted him self in the marines. In my opinion I think it was smart of him to make this move because were he lived it was gangs and drive buys so he actually stood up for him self. He was assigned a dog named Zenit, from that day on they were an elite team for the army. Finding deadly bombs in the ground so the wouldn't go off was there daily job. When I found out that Jose and Zenit would walk on ground that is infested with land mines and then try to turn it off without setting it off. This job in my opinion takes allot of guts because what if you mess up and it explodes? After a couple land mines the turned off there was one more but that one went of instantly putting Jose in a comma. He woke up and was severally injured, they had to amputate both his legs. He knew he couldn't do some things he wished to do in the future. But there was something missing, his best friend Zenit. I imagine the felling that Jose felt after losing both his legs, not being able to finish some of his dreams and most of all losing his best friend. Jose filled paper work and letters and everything he could to adopt his buddy Zenit. They finally said yes and jose drive 3 hours with his wife to pick Zenit up, he finally met his best friend once again. I thought that this article was heartwarming because I remember when I lost one of my toys when I was a little kid and it felt like the end of the world for me I imagine Jose's felling because his was a DOG his BEST FRIEND not a lousy toy. I thought it was pretty sad how veterans don't get to take there dog with them after they get injured or retire because the dog is a partner not some lousy piece of machinery. I think we should change that, in my opinion I would love to bring my partner with me home after I retire because we probably grow a strong bond and thats how Jose felt. I really liked this story and I hope to read another one like it soon.

Mike Lupica: The Big Field
I am reading the book, "The Big Field" and so far I have learned that Hutches Life has changed. He is a base ball player that has just moved to a new team called the Post 226 Cardinals. Hutch Plays short stop and it turns out that when he went to this new team they already had one. His name is Daryl and he is projected to become a pro player when he grows up. There was a problem with this thou, his father was a professional baseball player and he had to quit because he was not quiet "fit" for this kind of ball game. The problem with this is that Hutch is a baseball player and his dad well dislikes the sport. His dads perspective is that the sport wont get his son anywhere in life just like what happened to him. This is what I have found out so far keep reading for the whole book.
In my opinion the book is in 3rd person point of view. I think of this because there are parts were the character reads "He" "She" "They" "Is" etc. For example this sentence tells me the POV isn't 1st. "He and Hutch did not say a word to each other since they talked before infield." Here the narrator says "he" and then says "Hutch" I knew from there it was not 1st person because Hutch wouldn't say his name when he was talking like that. He would have referred to it as "Me" or "I". This is why I think its a 3rd person POV.

The Treasure Of Lemon Brown
Greg Ridley, he's not your average student for on he is not very good when it comes to a math equation. His dad try's his hardest to push his kid to do better like every other parent but it just doesn't seem to work with Greg. Greg pays attention more to sports then to his academics, this is what bothers his father. One day he walked over to some abandoned building were he used as cover because it was raining. He then meet this one man named Lemon Brown, he started telling his life story and how he made it to were he was now. He explained that he always gets jumped by thugs that try to steal his "treasure". They appeared when Greg was there with him, so Lemon tried to scare them off. He then told greg to go home after they left, "it is not safe here" he said. So greg went home already knowing about the lecture his dad was going to give him.
After reading this book I was mind blown how he used to be a worker well more of a musician. He would get paid like normal to pay for his wife and son Jesse. I imagine how it felt to lose your wife and then your son then going poor ad losing all your money. Thats unthinkable, Lemon Brown taught Greg a lesson how life is not easy. This changed Greg, Lemon put Greg's thinking cap back on and put him on back on track.
